Cause and Effect

How to use the Cause and Effect template

 

1. Enter any event into the oval symbol labeled "Cause."

2. Enter the initial effects of the event into the symbols labeled "Effect."

3. Enter any implications of the effects into the symbols labeled "Implication."

4. If multiple causes lead to one effect, enter the causes into the rectangular symbols labeled "Cause."

5. Enter the effect or result of those causes into the oval symbol labeled "Effect or Results."

6. Add symbols as necessary using the Create tool.

7. Use the Note tool to add notes and record detailed information and observations.

 

Benefits of using the Cause and Effect template

This approach can be used across all facets of business for examining, understanding and analyzing information.
