Concept Mapping
In science and other curriculum areas, students use concept maps to analyze text, construct meaning, and relate it to prior knowledge. Teachers use concept maps to explain relationships visually, prompt discussion, and summarize content.

Students use idea maps and other types of graphic organizers to generate ideas, show relationships between them, and develop thoughts visually. Keywords, colors, and graphics represent nonlinear networks of ideas and observations.
